“ The best kept secret Chinese restaurant near the Apollo Victoria Theatre before watching the "Wicked". The ambience is hands down authentic. The best Sichuan Chinese cooking by chef Qing Song Fan. Any food is great pecking duck, chicken gyoza dumplings, chicken fried rice, beef and shrimp fried rice. Name it and you will be satisfied. I will go there again if in the area. ”

“ The only review was written close to a year ago. We just had the MOST AMAZING CHINESE FOOD there today. I can say that with total confidence since we've lived in San Francisco and NYC. The new management took over about 1-2 months ago. We were there in the late afternoon when it was very slow (after a loooong day at Buckingham Palace) and got to spend some time with the new manager but more about that later. We were treated like family from start to finish. From the outside it looks like a regular Chinese food restaurant but when you pass under the two red lanterns, you are transported to a serene, small room with a few tables and single seating at bars along the front windows and around a small bar area. The service is incredible meaning they unfold the cloth napkin and place it on your lap shortly after you sit down, We ordered 2 Tsingtao beers and they made sure to bring a frosty pilsner glass and pour the beer for you to enjoy. The menu is large but not the usual same sauce/dish for every kind of meat or vegetable. Every item was different and it all sounded delicious with detailed descriptions of ingredients, etc. Many of the specialties are Sichuan in flavor. We started with an order of Grilled Chicken Gyoza. The dumplings were delicate and light and inside was moist, grilled chicken with leeks, very good. Peking Duck...an old standard that here, takes you all the way to heaven. The dish comes out with two plates, one having crushed shrimp chips (which come to the table when you sit down as well) and the other holding the mahogany, crispy-skinned duck. Francis, the manager told us the chips will absorb the fat from the duck and then he proceeded to cut the bird. He placed it on a cloth napkin and first removed the skin in uniform pieces and placed each one on top of the chips. He did the same with the meat. He told us the remainder of the carcass (which still had a lot of meat left) would be sent back to the kitchen and return as Lettuce Wraps! He also very kindly, made my first one using the very, very thin pancake then some Hoisin sauce ("...but not too much") a few julienned pieces of red cabbage, cucumber and I think lotus root, julienned also, a piece of duck skin, then the duck meat, rolled up and eaten with your hands. He repeated the process for my husband. First bite and we were over the moon with very happy taste buds. When the Lettuce Wraps came out it was a whole other bowl of deliciousness with the cool, crisp Iceberg lettuce surrounding a mound of chopped duck meat with corn and other vegetables. Due to the time of day, we ended up being the only patrons in the place and Francis told us about the restaurant and then took us downstairs to another part of the restaurant with hot pot tables and regular dining tables. It is very large area and beautifully decorated. This is used for the dinner service. I can guarantee that we will return to have some of the best Chinese food we've ever had in our collective lives before we go home to the United States. I was such a pleasure to eat here. ”
